Thank you I appericiate the comment very very much! I have one comment as well, on that one you say "empty map" it is empty because you "Race" there, so of course it has to be empty!

and the second one , that water effect I got it like that from the RTP! I didn't bother to change it I just use it as is!

I used final fantasy character because back at that time (2003-2004) it was really popular to make Fan Games, so this was mine. But I agree, maybe one day I will remake thsi game with original characters :D

I added a new download. If the world map lags for you, open the menu ingame, go to Options>Miscellaneous>"No Rain Mode" then turn it off. (I know i labeled it wrong but thats what you have to turn off and the worldmap wont lag)


The required specs to play this game are as follows:

Processor: Pentium 4 3.0 GHz or higher
RAM: 500MB or higher
Video Memory: 64MB or higher
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Midi Synthesizer: Microsoft Wavetable GS

If your processor is ANY LOWER, then you PC doesnt have the required speed to calculate the midi catchup codes, and that is why your PC seems to hang at those points in the game and the world map.

In the data base, that means " a number randomly picked between 1 to 25 ( or 30, or XXX ) steps"

according to the help file, its like this;

Citation:

[Encounter Rate] The minimum number of steps needed to initiate an encounter. For example, if the value was 20, the probability of a battle would increase every step, until you reached 20 steps, when a battle would occur. If this value is set to 0, you will never get into a battle.



I have been using rpgmaker a long time (like i said this game is from 2004) but I have NEVER got in a battle like every 2, 3, or 4 steps when it is set to be 25 or 30 etc.

Anyway, later you can get an item to reduce the encounter even further so its worth looking out for. And on the worldmap, you can just use a Chocobo and skip battles.

yes, i put the warning there, but in reality, i have never encountered any CMS error where you can't open it.

I can't help this, it is a bug with the rpgmaker DBS, but i find it really interesting to fight like that!

wow, if so, maybe you need to go to "Options", then "Change Frames" and it should reset. This is a interesting find because it never happened to me.

Ok, i'm using a code on the world map, after every battle, it brings the song playing in the world map back to the position it was before you enter a battle. (normally rpgmaker reset the song so it plays from the start) if this is still a problem and you are still want to continue playing the game, I can provide you a patch that removes that code. (song will no longer play from last position, it will reset)

I made this game back in 2004, but I only released it recently as I was holding back because peoples stance has changed a lot over the years regarding fan games.

Note: THIS WAS MY FIRST RM2K3 GAME!! [url="http://vanadiaproject.blogspot.com/"]Legend of Vanadia[/url] is my second.

SYSTEMS


Steal System - Basically most FF's

Scan - Good ol' scan

Throw System - Throw whatever you want! (Except key items)

Bushido System - FFX Style, WITH timers IN the DBS

Limit Break System - FF7 Style, More dammage = Faster filling bars

Summon - Final Fantasy X style - With summon intros and limits.

Gil Toss System - Like FF5

Blue Magic - Kinda like FF9

Kamikaze System - FF8 Style, and last but not least

OMNISLASH! - Yes, it's exactly like FF7. EXACTLY.

And finally, a custom made music track for bossfights composed by me and my cousin bro.


IN CONCLUSION

So you see, my main mission was not to make FF Fangame NO#58421, but rather to make a
game as close as possible to the real (SNES) thing using the best from all systems.
(To date I have never seen a fan game using all of this, maybe there are?)
I could have used other characters but then, Cloud was my favorite and I'll stick with him.

I apologize again, but I never encountered these lags/lockups so I never knew they existed. this is a patch for some people that said it lags at the chief's house in the first village.
